Peace

I want to sit quiet for a long time,

Not the restless quiet of waiting,

Nor the burdened hush of unsaid words,

But the kind that melts into the air,

Soft, weightless, effortless.

No thoughts knocking at my mind’s door,

No words forming, rising, dissolving,

Just silence stretching like an endless sky,

Where I am neither lost nor found - Just being.

I want to gaze without meaning,

Let my eyes rest on the world

As it is - without a need to name it,

A bird on a wire, a leaf adrift,

The way sunlight leans against old walls.

And in this quiet,

I will inhale like the tide pulling back,

Exhale like the waves touching the shore,

Steady, deep, whole,

A moment needing nothing more.

I want to sit quiet for a long time.

The Collector of Odd Bits

Silently, I file away reminiscences. I collect odd bits of information about people - the way someone hums while lost in thought, the stories they tell without realizing their significance, the small habits that make them who they are. These details slip through everyday conversation, easily forgotten, but I hold onto them like treasures.

In a world that moves fast, these fragments remind me that people are more than their big moments. The little things - the way someone’s eyes light up when talking about a childhood memory or the familiar phrases they always use - reveal just as much.

I do not keep these details to use them, only to appreciate them. And perhaps, one day, a forgotten memory will resurface, and someone will realize they were truly seen. And isn’t that what we all long for?

Life in Black and White

For me, life isn’t a spectrum of grays - it’s black or white. Right or wrong. Something either is, or it isn’t. There’s no in-between, no room for half-truths or justifications.

Some may call this rigid, but I see it as clarity. It keeps decisions simple. If something aligns with my values, I stand by it. If it doesn’t, I walk away. No lingering doubts, no second-guessing.

This mindset helps me navigate life with confidence. It means I don’t compromise where it matters. It means I don’t waste time rationalizing bad decisions. It keeps me focused, disciplined, and true to who I am.

Sure, some might argue that life is more nuanced, that circumstances shape morality, that some situations demand compromise. But to me, bending too much blurs the line between right and wrong. And when that happens, where do you draw the line?

So, I don’t. It’s either right, or it isn’t. No grey areas. No exceptions.
